40 days really is one of the big the highlights of your matric year.. and these matrics have lost so much of the celebration of being in matric.. every event is a last..shame I am glad they did something..

It's a highlight for some. For introverts like me it was a pain in the ass. Also the matric dance - would have happily stayed away, but as a teenager you try to sort of fit in.

Yeah he was never bothered about missing the matric dance..but 40 days was one he was looking forward to and the school kind of lets them have full reign as long as they are respectful. The teachers always just accept that 40 days won't be a productive school day (school is quite big on school spirit).. but the kids actually impressed me with the stay away it is responsible under current circumstances and yet still a bit of rebellious [emoji1787]

We were planning a matric reunion in August, and although it is now unlikely to come off, people have been sending pictures back & forth in the process. Looking at them now, I really was such a dork. And the dress code, oh my, I'm going to have to photoshop a lot before I can let my boys see those pictures or I'll never hear the end of it.

My sister takes great pleasure in unearthing these sorts of photos and sharing them on family groups

..............After this one picture, I've decided to bury the watercolours and brushes six feet deep in the backyard and concrete it over.

Well, today I'm glad I couldn't find the spade.........because somehow I tried again.........sucker for punishment and all..........and this picture I think I can live with..........I get the feeling of the place from it...........but I'll still hide it somewhere!
