From Cape Town and now living in JHB. Had a ACL injury a year ago and need to get back into something fun to keep the cardio up. Road cycling seems to be the option i have. Don't own a bicycle as yet but will start looking now. Thought i'd say hi and use this platform to further my knowledge  

 

Also have a group of friends training for the 947 and would like to join them in their training, not taking part though.

YET. After a short while you will  get FOMO and enter.

Hello all,

 

This is my first time on this site, so like to say hello from Australia!! I'm lucky enough to be married to my beautiful South African bride and have my extended family in Pretoria and Cape Town. There are a lot of cycling fanatics in the family now and a few of us have dragged ourselves through the Cape Epic a few times!!

 

I am lucky enough to be bringing the Cycology brand of clothing to South Africa now which is long overdue. I won't post the website here yet as I'm not sure if that is the done thing? I just want to let as many people know that we are finally here in the Mother Land and looking forward to getting our gear on everyone's backs.

 

Look forward to following the chatter here on BikeHub and getting back to South Africa for more great racing in some of the best countryside around.

Hi all

 

I only got into cycling in December last year. I was really unfit in Jan2015 and decided to turn my life around (fitness wise). I couldnt even run 2km without stopping and feeling nausious.

I started running too much too fast, fell in love with it and within about 6 months I realised that my knees are not made for running. I had a series of ankle, ITB injuries. I decided to take a break from running and cycle instead. Borrowed a bike from my girlfriend and started riding. 2 months later I bought a bike and (fast foword to now) in 4 days' time I am doing the Karoo to Coast. Needless to say I fell in love with cycling.

I am an avid commuter as well and would love to see Cape Town become the next Amsterdam or Copenhagen with regards to cycling.
