My question is still do the individual numbers mean that much or is it OK to just monitor one's PMC and watch fitness (to see if you're improving, stagnating or just getting sleg) and form (how moeg you are and to help with 'tapering' for an event)?

 

TSS is not that accurate so I agree with using the PMC + tits and "how do I feel" as an indicator of when to tap off and take a break week (or taper).

 

For "how am I improving" I use the CP chart / critical mean max, best power for time shows up there.

One 197 TSS ride in the sweet spot (IF 0.88) on Sat.

 

The rest was recovery spins early in the week after a 6 hr / 180 km DC ride.

 

Back in Jozi for most of the week with work - no time to ride.
