Adverse analytical finding in recent mountain bike stage race

This topic has so many discussion points and we could play the devils advocate on all of them.

Personally Barry's admission does seem legit, however we do all know that the pros are doping the s#*t out of themselves, but I have no doubt that many amateur cyclists ARE taking illegal substances to give them an unfair advantage over guys who are more talented/harder working/better cyclists. So where to the UCI/CSA draw the line? How do you define a doping cheat? I guess it all just shows the sad state of affairs that is currently over shadowing our beloved sport.

SAIDS gets to say how its visibly clamping down and winning the war againsed drugs in sport, and the UCI gets to brag about the renewed control over the sport at all levels in all countries. I do wonder if the focus on the 50 tests conducted on actual local Pro's that have been swept under the rug will now be out of the limelight as a result of my 'bust'.

^^ This - not completely out but a little further under the rug. Thanks for the detailed back story. All the best with the media circus.

BTW, the guy who posted my company contact details, You're a piece of work. What if I'd posted on the forum that you're a child molester then put your company contact details up...? What the hell is wrong with you...? Very brave behind your keyboard there...

Dude, I'm not brave behind my keyboard, anyone can do a quick search on Google and get that info in 2 seconds, it's not as if I hacked your banking details and posted it on here. In hindsight in probably wasn't nessacery, so I'm sorry if I caused you any troubles. If I am caught being a child molester, you are welcome to post my details on here. BTW, I am NOT a child molester.

Don't bother reading the instructions.. contraindications are basically not known unless you consider a "liver evil" a scientific term..

From wiki:

Detection of use [edit]

Stanozolol is subject to extensive hepatic biotransformation by a variety of enzymatic pathways. The primary metabolites are unique to stanozolol and are detectable in the urine for up to 10 days after a single 5-10 mg oral dose. Methods for detection in urine specimens usually involve gas chromatography-mass spectrometry or liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry.[2][3][4]

Dude, how much of this stuff did you take that they finding it months afterwards ?

MtnBaaisklist, how come didn't you approach them directly after they tested you, and notify them that months ago you used x & y and that you would rather fess up beforehand. Would you have said something if they didn't find anything?

Like he said he was tested on day 1 and didn't want his partner(who had paid for the entire event) to suffer by being DQ for something that may or may not show up and was not taken as a PED for the race at all.

As i said in my 'admission of guilt' post, I WAS given the opportunity to approach them and tell them, but i made the mistake of not doing so. I gave reasons why not. No, I would not have said anything, because had they not found anything in the test, it would have meant that there wasn't in fact anything in my system, and that i had not gained any advantage over anyone else.

Would you go get drunk at a braai, get in the car and drive, approach a roadblock and decide to swop seats with your sober passenger, make it through the roadblock as a result but then decide to go back and hand yourself over and tell them that you'd swopped seats n they should in fact arrest you...?
