(Previously known as "City Cycling Chop")

I was again disappointed by 2 riders from the City Cycling Club.

2 guys throwing their rubbish off the side of the road during the tour de Philadelphia.

Back race number 712, about2time tag 228.

This is not the first complaint about riders from this club.

I am part of City Cycle Club (wasn't the offender), but why not simply speak to the someone from the club? Being immature and crying about it on a forum does nothing good. There were loads of us there after the race. Instead of sitting behind a screen come and say something.

That is exactly what I am going to do.

I just can't understand why people come on here and complain about petty things which can easily be sorted out in person.

I don't come on here and complain about people throwing stuff away, I tell them about it there and then.

I don't come on the Hub and winge about how poorly some other clubs ride and the danger that they create. It's called saying something in the moment instead of making such a big deal about it on a popular forum.

Constructively solve the problem.

Admittedly, labelling you as 'chops' isn't exactly the best way to start a dialogue and is going to bring a tainted reply.

At the end of the day it's a pretty average look for guys to be throwing rubbish about in CC colours and reflects badly on the club. If one person noticed it then so did a lot more and that builds a perception.

I would have thought that taking the higher ground with a 'cheers guys, thanks for bringing that up. It's something that we don't condone, looks bad on the high standards we set ourselves and obviously we'll deal with it' might have been a professional and easier way of closing it down.

Hacking back and calling the guy a 'whinger' and 'immature' for not doing what you'd do seems overly precious and just looks for a negative response.

Maybe my response is being taken more negatively then it should be taken and I apologise for that. I just feel that this could have been avoided if the person acted when it happend and decided not to create such a post in the manner that he did. I am not 'hacking back'.

As i said I am going to speak to the higher orders as I am a mere rookie in the club. Thanks for the notification of the incident.

I think the OP did just fine. Bring it to peoples attention. Most of the time if you say something to the person head-on he'll retaliate aggressively and that solves no problems.

I agree it is so unnecessary to litter the idiots should be exposed in every way possible, i have also tried to take up with offenders as it happens but the aggression directed every time actually leaves me intimidated to chut up and raise later

Rydog, you seem to have other underlying issues.pm me.

what i normally do if i see riders in my bunch littering i go up to them and tell them, face to face. if i can't do that safely, i do it after the race. i will establish who the perp is and deal with it.

btw , we cleaned the whole route after the last rider came in as well as the parking area around the start / finish area. littering has to be addressed in the event application and we accept that cleaning up after the event is part of the game. riders would help if they left their empty pre / post race gel sachets in their vehicles instead of next to them.
