Thug Posted January 22, 2014 Share OK, questions 3 & 4 are more tongue in cheek.... What prompted this poll is the following (ex my post in the Attakwas thread)... On going through the SS results, it appears that someone might have been a naughty boy. The SS winner, Nico Van Zyl rode the last +-36k's from Waterpoint 4 in a time of +- 1hr 52m. However, there appears to have been a rider that rode the last 36km's in a time of 47 minutes. By comparison, the overall race winner Urs Huber was 30 minutes slower than that rider and took a pedestrian 1hr 17minutes for the same distance. I don't know what logical reason there would be for being 30 minutes quicker than the overall race winner. BTW, there is a picture of the offending individual crossing the finish line on his bicycle. edit: took out the individuals race number and his finishing position. V12man Posted January 22, 2014 Share POSSIBLE :whistling: :whistling: :whistling: BUT VERY UNLIKELY 46kph by my calculation - so 10kph slower than freewheeling down the steep side of Northcliff hill.... or given 34x18 gearing, about a cadence of 200rpm.... or slightly more.... Drop a clutchplate on your foot for saying it's possible.... a BIG one Shangri la

dirtrider Posted January 22, 2014 Share Is it possible that he took the wrong turnoff unintentionally ? At a USN race last year I finished with the front dudes on my SS
Skubarra Posted January 22, 2014 Share Hopefully just a cock up with the timing system I agree, there can be many logical explanations. Don't be so quick with the cheater branding RoboLuke, MTBc and Rata Del Spruit
Shebeen Posted January 22, 2014 Share If you take out the last time check is the result an issue, is the oke capable of that time? Otherwise I suppose some motor vehicle assistance would have been required.
SwissVan Posted January 22, 2014 Share Is it possible that he took the wrong turnoff unintentionally ? At a USN race last year I finished with the front dudes on my SS Ha ha yes it happens and can be genuinely innocent...the trick question is did he report "something innocent happened" to the event organizers on the day?
