'Are we again bringing up the stink of the arrogance of roadies.'

I just shake my head and 'we' think we're better than them ....... :whistling: :whistling: :whistling: :whistling: :whistling:

Agreed Ben! this is a systemic problem across this society thats decending into anarchy at a rapid rate and not a banal infantile roadie/mtb matter....

Hahahahahahahaha! Ja, ja, Spruit boy!

Anyhows, here's the link if you can't open the PDF: http://www.iol.co.za...82#.UxVo4h3wDZs

Don't hate the Spruit!

On the Spruit we only fight dog walkers (with small dogs), horse riders, and old ladies... but not the ones with walking sticks, we pick our battles.

But we are moving to try solve more altercations with Dance-Offs.

I think in this particular case, a Dance-Off would have still been an unfair fight. Afterall, the majority of the offending dance crew were already wearing their disco shoes, and pants that allowed for radical moves like the splits.

Fist fight or Dance-Off, it was unfair either way!

Just to think I'm going all the way to CT on Friday to cycle with scum like this. Roadies suck, MTB rules.

So if I ride on my roadbike I suck, and when I ride on my MTB I am cool. Not a cool comment sir. Who you are as a person is not defined by your mode of transport, but by the stuff that is between your ears.

Mr Akon, there's no need to take a personal stab.... My point is that logic would suggest there was an altercation, or exchange of words, or something to spark off this agression... I do not for once condone it. This agression is way out of line and they need to be bought to book.

I too want to fully understand the context of the behaviour.

A sound track to that clip would reveal a lot more.

Right... all eyes on the club management and its due process now.

This is gonna be key.

No doubt, the pressure is on.

Mod note: Let's steer away from generalist comments like 'roadies suck', 'taxi drivers suck', 'motorists suck'. These add no value to the discussion and only seek to incite further anger.

Also, personal attacks on other members will not be tolerated. Argue and challenge opinion, but there is no need to take personal digs at other posters.

This discussion has gone relatively well to this point, let's not destroy it now.

Guys like that are idiots and need to be sorted out. Regardless of what the guy in the taxi did it doesn't call for someone to get violent. Look what happened in Northgate the other guy where a motorbike guy got shot etc cause of confronting a guy in his car for something he did. what if that guy had a guy then it would have ended very different. Just let it go and keep on riding as It would just mess up the rest of ur training ride.

No place for ppl like that in any sport. they probably bragging about beating some guy up. idiots

Please correct me if I'm wrong, but have not yet seen altercations, etc. between cars/people and mtb okes...? Then again, not a lot of people/cars on single track

...edit...But to the point, I must say, I cycle to enjoy it and have never even come close to giving the finger/name calling/whatever on my cycling trips...not even when I commute and motorists do crazy and stupid things. Usually I find that a smile and wave makes the motorist or who-ever feel like a knob for being agro or the stupid thing they did... my 2c.

How many times guys... They are called stilts. We were informed by the other video we had to watch last week.

When they look like this...

definitely disco shoes!

But yeah, I can definitely see the need for pepper spray. If some guy wearing his tightest PJs and his dancing shoes came swinging at me like this, I would have to be pepper sprayed to subdue my laughter

After reading 29 pages of rants and finger pointing, maybe we should take PPA , CSA and the respective clubs to task, governing bodies in SA are always keen to shirk responsibilities of its members, the responsibility not only lies with us as cyclists but these governing bodies mentioned. The behaviour of these goons should result in a ban of all events for life, irrespective of who was at fault.

No body goes that crazy over nothing.. watch towards the end of the video, it looks like a little guy got knocked off, he comes running around the vehicle hobbling, if the driver did bump some one off as a result of not concentrating then he got what was coming..

I presume from what you are saying then, that at every accident scene there should be a few punches thrown. All accidents are as a result of negligence from at least one party. Lets say your wife/mother/son/daughter has an accident, would you like them to be subjected to this kind of treatment?

He deserved an out of control mob? Pfff...

Dude... Thousands of people fly off the hook for nothing. In this matter, we as cyclists should not condone this AT ALL. It is irresponsible, immature and barbaric. I do not want cyclists to be known as such. Real bad behaviour you okes

I have had an altercation with a driver who should not have been driving in the plantation after i flipped in the bird...the oke tried to bliksem me properly....I ran away like a girl.....but had to return to reason with him so I could get my bike back....people are tense and angry regardless of where they are.....I now keep my mouth shut or tell someone politely that they should not be in the forest
