Some feedback on my nutrition issues:

I bought Tailwind (Rasberry Buzz with Caffeine) after reading lots of reviews (BTW, the service was excellent, received it 2 days after ordering it online).

I didn't have a long run planned this past weekend, so I had to test it at Satellite Classic. My nutrition on the bike and running is not quite the same (for some reason I can ride with 32 GI but not run with it).

I made one bottle (750 ml) with two scoops of Tailwind. (It was really hot on Saturday and I finished two bottles, one with just water)

It worked great. It is not too sweet and there is no aftertaste. I had no stomach cramps or nausea with Tailwind. It was a very hot day and I think I should have made it stronger as I felt hungry after 3 hours. Also, I should have made two bottles of Tailwind.I still need to play around with the number of servings etc.

Conclusion: If gels/bars upset your stomach, you can try Tailwind. ( I think they have smaller starter packs to try) . I paid R 440 for 30 servings (serving of 100 g of calories) which I feel is not expensive at all.

I will try it again this coming weekend on a run, but I am sure I will be able to stomach it.

Let’s be honest, the Nike is pretty dirty from the top.

On July 7, 2009, Dr. Brown wrote an email to Parker saying, "We have preliminary data back on our experiments with a topical male hormone called Androgel ... We found that even though there was a slight rise in T/E ratios, it was below the level of 4 which would trigger great concern. ...We are next going to repeat it using 3 pumps. ...

We need to determine the minimal amount of gel that would cause a problem."

In response, Parker wrote: "t will be interesting to determine the minimal amount of topical male hormone required to create a positive test," according to excerpts of the emails.

So Nike is accused of cheating in a non sanctioned out of competition marketing campaign, because they had special shoes? Can we get even more ridiculous?

I wont be surprised if other brands are behind this hissy fit. They are all light years behind Nike when it comes to innovation, and I cant see them catching up soon.

Its been discussed ad nauseam but why are Nike hated for pushing the envelope? All sport are benefiting from technological advancement. Should we go back to wooden rackets, steel frames etc etc

Runners that are so concerned about the direction Nike is moving in should stick to their Cumulus 15s and accept the change.

I am glad I am not the only one who's thoughts drifted down that path atleast once....

Nike and INEOS combo.

Nike with coaches being banned and INEOS owning a cycling team riddled with controversy over TUE's.

This feat of an incredible human athleticism is not about the bike... sorry shoes, not about the shoes.

Also Eluid is still the fastest Marathon runner, but the world record is still 2:01:39 from Berlin, celebrate that rather.

Could be true that behind the scene the sponsored athletes of other brands are the ones making the accusations.  However if Nike introduced the carbon plate, they were not the first (I understand) but have definitely pushed the envelope and other brands are following like the Hoka Carbon X and Asics will be bringing out their own shoe soon with carbon insert.  Jan Frodeno wore a prototype pair to win Ironman Kona last weekend https://triathlonmagazine.ca/feature/frodenos-fast-footwear/

Nike weren't first with the carbon plate, but they were first to get it right. Its not as simple as sticking a piece of carbon in the shoes, as we know the foam they use might even contribute even more.

The Hoka Carbon X is nice, but its not a sub 2:05 shoe. They know it and thats why its marketed more towards ultra runners.

The great thing about this is that other brands, like Asics are forced to step up. But until then we will continue seeing their sponsored runners cry on Twitter and run in spraypainted Nikes.

Crazy..Do people not understand how timing chips work.. or do you think those lower batches don't really care about time, and whether they've done 10k or 9k didn't really matter.. They got the medal and the T-shirt and thats all that counts

Its the same as cycling. It does not really matter to me if my result is posted.

I have often forgotten my chip and raced  no worry.

As for the medal you dont have to take one.Ill have the T shirt thanks very much
