Sir Bradley Wiggins insists that disgraced cyclist Lance Armstrong epitomises the “perfect winner” of the Tour de France envisioned by the race’s founder, Henri Desgrange.

Geraint Thomas's comments are entertaining

They could start by actually telling the whole truth... he's still playing the victim card last I checked. He will just go straight back to doing what he always did. Win at all costs.

Same principle applies to every cheat / doper, yet they all get another chance.

Therein lies the possible victim angle, some were made an example of.

Ban them all for life, 2 year bans pffffffttt ????

He was assisting with Eurosport on the London Six Day, actually quite good in the commentary box, and meant less of Karlton K's mindless ramblings

I am sure you have seen this article already: Valverde: I shouldn't be asked about Operacion Puerto

Valverde raced Milano-Torino in Wednesday, in his second race in the rainbow jersey, and in the media mixed zone after the race Cyclingnews asked him about Operación Puerto.

"Operación Puerto is something I shouldn't be asked about," he said bluntly.

"That's water under the bridge, and I don't even want to talk about it. I believe I've sufficiently demonstrated who I am since then.

"Who asks me about Operación Puerto is clueless."

Cyclingnews.com is onto him again:

Valverde: I never tested positive

Seems that Boxing and MMA works with a different organisation that doesn't fall under WADA? (I might be wrong)

Maybe that explains why some switch to MMA?

Pfffff Kevin, that's lame. ("Must have accidentally taken my wife's tablets because they were in the same container") Should rather have asked Daryl and his pharmacist about the excuse they came up with.

From Cycling SA's latest email:

"Cyclists serving a doping sentence would typically be banned from competing in any cycling races for the duration of their ban, whether sanctioned or not. Unfortunately, we have seen that at events that are not sanctioned, riders serving bans have been allowed to participate. Once investigated, offenders could receive an extension on their doping ban as stipulated by SAIDS (South African Institute for Drug-free Sport)"
