They are like the UCI.. act after incidents instead of avoiding incidents in the first place, and always punish riders for making them look bad.

If it was a bigger name they would've had a different story

CSA and the organisers favour certain riders above others.. had it been eg..Sauser it would've been a very different story

This might be controversial, but here goes.

Many cyclists will "cheat" wherever they can to win a few seconds. We see it in all sports.

Organisers can't really be at every spot at every second.

Unfortunately it's very difficult to close the roads completely. The rules were clear, the roads will be open, stay left and try to follow the rules of the road as far as possible.

For example, at the recent Omloop they warned the riders not to go on the pavement to avoid the cobbles. Guess what Sagan and front group did? Jumped on the pavement! When the chase group came through the bike marshal had to ride on the pavement to block them from doing the same.

Back to Rohan, I think he made a mistake, but very glad that there was no accident. And I don't feel the truck driver did anything wrong, except to do a great job to slow down.

I get what you are saying..I really do.. but my whole argument has been because our roads are what they are that that stretch should've just been closed been just closed off to force the riders to the far left lane, .it's really about rider safety.. what about the riders that have no support vehicle to make sure no one rams them from behind?

Agreed that the truck did fantastic.

And yes a lot of errors were made.. from organisers and rider and his support crew.

I hope they learn from this other organisers and rider.

I see from the Racetec results that Ariane Kleynhans beat Ariane Luthi by 2 seconds in the ITT.

Today was f****** brutal. We made a break on Franschoek Pass with 12 other riders and managed to stay away up to the finish. I have new respect for the euro pros who ride the whole day in break.

Feel bad for the one guy in our break, went down hard around 50km in when a pedestrian walked in front of him. Poor oke was screaming when he hit the ground, think he broke something.

Good luck today!!

Thanks! Had a good day, our team stuck together which was great fun (not at the sharp end of the field though). Were part of a big group for most of the way after Franschoek. Joined a little break away up Du Toitskloof which was good for the ego until the elite ladies caught me right before the finish, man those girls can pedal! Nice to have a front row seat view!

I see one of our team members was with you today - gotta love Strava Flybys.

Well done!
