Agree with lots of comments here - MvP did finish stronger but perhaps the victory by MvP would have been sweeter if beating Pogi more straight up.....the old saying kick a guy when his down...

I think his radio com wasn’t working so even if the team wanted him to play good cop, it wasn’t even possible, and his power meter was not working. He was out on his own, with only himself to navigate split second decisions, all the while us arm chair guys had 10 seconds still to run the fridge and think about it. 😜

Yeah MvDP looked the more in form. But small margins (Pogi mistake). Seems roles were reversed from Flanders where MVDP had seemingly nothing left in that 4 man chase.

Sorry, nothing to see here. This was not a situation where Pogacar was caught up in someone’s else’s crash. He crashed himself. A few weekends ago he crashed and and had to chase down the group for the win. No favours there , no favours in P-R

it was a straight up fight.

Yebo

Paris Roubaix is not only about horsepower, Pogi found out the hard way.

Kick a guy when his down? Really...

He beat pog straight up! No other way of putting it. This is not a PPa funride. Staying on your bike is part of bike racing.

Hamilton spins out in a corner as he came in too hot. Should Max sit up and wait for him? Didn't think so either

My own intuition, unsupported by any spreadsheet analysis or forensically studied list of cases, is that “the unwritten rules” are slowly but surely being followed less and less

The 'wait' rule is to be considered mostly in GC type races where there are a number of things in play over days .... One day races not so much, the stakes are very high in this case - anyway that's the way I see it

Despite the thoughts about this particular case on social media it would appear the riders involved and the rest are indifferent about it?

MvdP heading to the dikwiel now to prepare for Worlds and that other elusive rainbow jersey.

His team boss was fined 1000 bux for passing a gel in the final stages of the race to keep his engine purring as he was over the threshold often from 100 kms already, way before the forest of Arenberg.

Members of the Mohoric fan club have identified the individual who threw a full 500 ml Jumbo' bidon into the winner's face. He has since been arrested. Strange times, strange people.

Wowzers 🫣

I know it's always been this way, but this race should have team support on motorbikes/quadbikes.

Thee is also talk about Pogi getting extra permission for the car to get up to him several times which rattled some teams on why it was allowed. I guess Machine VDP attacking before the feedzone’s  had something to do with it! LOL.
