Yeah lets take this thread back to its roots and talk about your gorgeous bike... spill the beans sister.... what made you go for a Mercer? How has the experience been.... come on....

I can't remember the specifics but last year while looking around for an upgrade, one of the hubbers suggested steel - I was totally ignorant and also thought - what - are you mad. One steel fan introduced me to another, who in turn pointed me towards Mercer, read up about him, saw the reviews about the bikes and got into the whole sourcing components for the build. That's been a really huge learning curve, but with some generous kind folk helping me out, it's been informative and fun.

The build will probably be delayed ( I got distracted ) but I should get the frame within the next 2 weeks. Very exciting having a hand built, bespoke bike - one bike to rule them all.

But I could turn out to hate it - impulsive move and all that :)

I'm keeping it simple ...will post pics when it comes home :)

Awesome, I am looking forward to it. Building your own bike is special. If you need to explain it to someone, they may never understand.

Wishing you many happy miles.

Or a fat bamboo bike - to make the frame stiffer

If you haven't already, check out Babah bikes..

They TIG weld an array of super fun looking steel bikes, build custom and stock and are quite reasonable.

Their dual suss is super sexy...
