NotSoBigBen Posted January 15, 2023 Posted January 15, 2023 #EkSeMaarNiks The Guardian: Amsterdam calls for crackdown on menace of souped-up e-bikes. https://www.theguardian.com/world/2023/jan/14/amsterdam-crackdown-souped-up-e-bikes-dangerous-streets ChrisF and LazyTrailRider 2
LazyTrailRider Posted January 15, 2023 Posted January 15, 2023 I love my eBike, but derestriction to enable motorbike speeds is not cool. Not cool at all. ChrisF, Chadvdw67, Pieterlab1 and 1 other 3 1
The Ouzo Posted February 2, 2023 Posted February 2, 2023 I cant find the original thread where this was initially reported, but 1 year on and this article (even though a bit on the sensational side) does ask some questions regarding e-bikes. Granted is American, and common sense isnt all that common over there.

thebob Posted April 6, 2023 Posted April 6, 2023 After a couple incidents at Wolwespruit I can categorically say this has nothing to do with whether the machine involved is a bike or an e-bike, but rather whether the person on top is a twat or not ChrisF, Tatt and Louzy 3
Brakepad Posted October 15 Posted October 15 (edited) digging this out again, Aspen in Colorado (US) has banned ebikes on their trail network. They say ebikes are too fast, dangerous and too many.... Edited October 15 by Brakepad Eddy Gordo, Mook, Glenn Hurlow and 1 other 2 1 1
Super Sywurm Posted October 16 Posted October 16 (edited) The past weekend I sat behind 2 e-bikes. WOW, that old lady that can keep an average speed of more than 36km/h blew my mind. Edited October 16 by Super Sywurm Headshot and ChrisF 1 1

But .... was it on a mountain ? over 32km/h (on the long level sections, even slight incline) .... its been de-restricted .... keep pushing them for an hour ..... they will hate you when the battery runs out .....

Slight incline and I know it has been de-restricted. I think they did a +-40km out and back ride. ChrisF 1

Saw a gent at Argus this year .... happy with the "new" speed of his ebike. Less so when ran out juice at Chappies .... Super Sywurm 1
