Mine is 66m in length. It is a monster roll. Even these are cheaper, I mean if you buy 3 of these you'll be sitting on 70m for still lower than what charge:

That is what I got, just 31mm wide, but it is pretty much just duct tape , I have just read that because duct tape, insulation tape etc are somewhat elastic, it doesnt last long because it stretches through the spoke holes and then pops? Gorilla tape doesnt do that but leaves a horrible manky residue on the rim when you take it off.

Haaaaaa, now I understand why this yellow tape is more plastic and rigid versus the duct / gorilla tape. Makes sense now. That may also explain why the seeding is better on the yellow stuff coz it flexes less. But ok, don't take my word as gospel here, I am merely speculating 😁

Reviving this thread instead of making a new one

Does anyone have experience using this rimtape? Is it decent quality? I bought some Ryder tubeless tape, but it is just duct tape, and I see all over the place that duct tape is no good for tubeless....

Check this out on takealot: Tubeless Rim Tape 30mm x 66m
https://www.takealot.com/tubeless-rim-tape-30mm-x-66m/PLID72897105

This is off brand Stans tape, and it's one of the better ones out there.

The Ryder stuff works, but it's a pig to get all the glue off the rim if you need to change it. Same with duct tape or gaffer tape, although the Ryder stuff is at least thin enough that it doesn't affect spoke tension when the tyre is seated.

The only stuff I've found that works better than the Stans tape and equivalents (the yellow tapes are all the same stuff, just with different branding) are E13 and DT Swiss, and pricing is just silly by comparison.

Thanks for that droo, I have ordered some of that tape from takealot, wont be using the Ryder tape for the wheels, it can be repurposed elsewhere

not speculation.

This is why the yellow NoTubes tape is best, Gorilla next best. Both are not elastic.

The Old American Classic Rim Tape was also great.

The best tape I ever used was not on a tubeless setup and was not tape.

Its not a tape but rather like a large elastic band. Very tight to fit on, but once in place its doesnt move.

I wonder if something like this exists for tubeless.

The key is to not stretch any tape when applying it - even if they say its not elastic

Especially insulating tape

Insulating tape will just not work reliably. It will break through the spoke holes. If you absolutely want to use insulating tape then first apply 3M Fibre tape as base to prevent the insulating tape failing.

One of the first NoTubes customers in 2001 and have been through every development of the kit and sealant since then

Best tubeless advice I ever got was. Take it to your LBS.

Now I do.

A qualified mechanic makes the problem his.

I do my part to support a local business.

When I fetch a perfect tubeless setup the mechanic is smiling, I am smiling.

Then I get the bill. Then I am not smiling.

But.... after a ride or two, I am smiling again.

I've used everything including  ghetto tubeless (20 inch tubes cut open,) cricket bat Fibre tape, stans rubber rim strips with built-in valves to the yellow Stan's tape over the years.

Now I just use generic valves, Batseal and Gorilla tape that I cut down to the required width. You only need to cut the first bit, after that the tear remains straight. And I just stick new tape over the glue residue on the rim bed. And if I replace a spoke I just stick a new tape over aboit three holes next to the hole I inserted a new nipple into.

Touch wood, I haven't had any tubeless issues in the last 5 years bar a ripped sidewall or two.

I can't even remember the last time I've had to use a compressor to get a tyre to seal. We have it so good now.

I'm not knocking your credentials Diesel... Just saying to the general world don't stretch the tape (in any application really, not only for tubeless rims)

I was about to say, the old 'copper brown' AM classic tape is the best I've ever used.

I remember 'Cafe Latex' had a really similar product at one point.

Don’t use insulation at all except for building up the rim bed if a tyre is fitting too losely. It will not be strong enough to withstand the force on the tape at the spoke hole.

that is what I am saying
