My facebook profile tells me I have memories to look back on today, so I check. Scrolling back through the memories for today and its year after year of Cape Town. From driving down, to prep in the days pre-race, number collection etc.

I sure do miss the annual trip down.

The tourist industry also miss these events .... :)

Yeah man, would have been my 6th year in a row going down, should be leaving tonight for a leka 2 week break to Cape Town, but alas, now I'm back at my office for the first time in a year.

Can only imagine how it must feel for the people who have been doing this every year for 20, 30 or 40 years. Must be really weird.

LWB, would this have been number 30?

Yip, number 30. Would have been 31 years in a row for me as I was still there for the cancelled one in 2017(?). BUT.............lets hope it still happens later in the year.

So when we were chatting on whatsapp last week I had my weeks mixed up, I would have been driving down tomorrow and not last week. Flipping savages making their ride a week early messed up my dates.

full route is not allowed.

i see 31 okes decided that they could go do hospital bend over the weekend

and 48 road on the M3 from edinburgh drive

I am a huge hypocrite here because i use the M5 as a commuting route - (trust me it is the safest option), but to go and ride on the highway on the one day you are told not to really does the rest of us cyclists no favours.

It looks like a lot of these were virtual rides on Fulgaz

I did find it confusing that you said you were going down a week early. I think alot of people were confused by the Savages decision to ride a week before the time, think they got confused with the Junior Cycle Tour or something. . .

It is most definitely. Ironic that we are attending a workshop on the "Future of Work" next week at Deloitte, while being sent back to the stone age of sitting in an office.
