Which is why all bikes weigh 20kg.

15kg bike + 5kg chain;

7kg bike + 13kg chain...

Now try a 23kg ebike, half ton spare battery ... and a boat anchor chain ....

We tend to chastise the Karen's on Facebook and other platforms.

But they are actually way more "brave" than most of us on here. At least they use their true names.

We are actually quite pathetic, sitting here behind our pseudonyms, acting brave and calling others out for whatever behaviour doesn't align with ours.

Feeling good that: "Well I showed him"

I'm just a little bit over it for today.

Keep the rubber side down okes.

I've had my real name behind my profile since a heated debate like this way long ago.

got called out by someone who wasn't anonymous and then decided i didn't want to sit behind a pseudonym.

makes you way more accountable for what you put here.

They just need to put a key ignition on those ebikes, no one can carry or pedal them away if they aren't on anyway. No need for a lock ;)

Really dont want to spoil a good story with facts ... still worth nothing the current ebikes dont suffer the same gearbox drag the previous model did. Last Saturday I did the first part of the ride with the motor switched off. Going downhill, even a slight gradient you overspeed the motor assist quickly.

Maar jy gaan bars as jy daai gewig teen n bult wil uittrap sonder die motor ....

I know... just pulling your leg ;)

A friend of mine climbed Saaltjie in Jonkers on a V1 Spez Turbo Levo after the battery died. Heavy, but not unclimable. He still did it faster than I do on a normal bike. Then again he has a 380Watt FTP and him and the ebike still weighs less than me and my normal bike.

I just want to know when we can legally stop cowering away in our homes and feeling guilty about buying a coffee at Seattle.

You can't have it all in Hout Bay Bud. Some say there are at least two operating Seattle's in my surrounding cocoon, and another 2.5km out of it. Fuel license, coffee ( fuel for cyclists) license.

The police station where a Cape Town mother and father, and several "ocean protesters", were arrested and charged this week has been closed due to a staff member testing positive for Covid-19.

Cue every surf rushing the beach tomorrow am.

Wonder if the protesters infected the cops.

Typically 4 to 8 days before you can test positive, since contracting covid

Typically 7 to 10 days before becoming symptomatic to the point where a Dr will recommend a test ...

Also a few days for the tests ....

Cops most likely had it before encountering the surfers ....

So what is the furthest you guys have ridden outside in the 3 hour window, within your 5km radius?

My road bike is still on the trainer. Until now I only took the MTB up Paarl Mountain every morning to play a bit, but thinking of trying to do a 100km ride on the road bike sometime next week. Probably 10x 10km laps in town or something like that within the 5km radius.

Only 45km for me so far. Took just over 2 hours. I am fortunate that I have mtb trails right from my backdoor, but that does mean the ave speed is a bit lower. I also only ride 2 hours so I can take the doggos out for a walk.

I have wanted to see how far I can get on the roadie, but each time I go to the garage to get the lights on the bike for the next morning they end up on the mtb...

There is no way I'd make 100km though. In 3 hours I'd maybe make somewhere between 75km and 85km at most on the roadie.
