Agreed. I think it was Chantal Wooding last year hovering around the green cut line, and she seems to be going well this year.

My wife is riding together with Chantal ... they agreed to wait a bit for the wind to die and then go to Britstown.

The plan was to start at 4 again but seems they are still at WP4

Just wait until they're battling into a gale along the gravel road after WP10 and you're stressing whether they'll make RV5 ahead of cut off ... ;)

I honestly think Lachlan would have won by hours (I think he's even a good level above Ramses), but I also have no doubt his participation would have pushed everyone to another level... really do hope he comes back next year.  Bloody effin covid even stuffing with our dot watching

By hours, excuse my ASSumptions

It is farking brutal out there.

The wind is gale force and flat in riders faces.

And it is hot. Feels like a blow torch.

Today may be hardest that I have ever suffered on a bike.

You're doing great. Enjoy the cooler evening. ????

Well, it's not really a pipe dream when you consider LM has an Everesting time over 7 hours quicker than Benky's best... slightly different beast of course, but not a lot about Munga that would scare LM, and the only thing he's missing is some local knowledge.

That's my last Pro-Aussie comment for the year now - back to the dot's

LM is special, but maybe a little disingenuous to compare Benkys charity Everest 'record' over 240km (on a Curve Belgie probably) to LMs attempt over 145km to climb (probably on a Cannondale  SuperSix Evo Hi Mod) the same elevation. LM is probably half the size of Benky too ???? I wouldn't read too much into a 7 hour difference.
