What were you expectations from him?

clearly to be in the racing and fighting for the win. Over two min back is a serious drop off in form

That's a Piddy... I would've preferred another oke in the stripes.

Was really hoping for a better result from Alan too based on the high standard he has set this season. He's early season form dropping off or everyone else has picked up!?

Anyway, well done Nino!

I don’t want to sound combative, but why? This kind of logic is always weird for me. I can understand getting behind a rider like Alan due to national pride, but beyond that, why would you wish for anyone other than the best rider on the day taking the rainbow stripes? Nino put in one hell of a show today, and beat the best of the rest with some proper style. Why wish someone else won?

Are you new to the world of competitive sports?

The same reason there are so many Man U fans?

Some interesting stats

there's been 31 XCO World Champs events, Nino has won 1/3rd of them..

He's the oldest Men'sElite World Champ at 36yo, in a season where he has podiumed in every race he started.

damn, it means I'm alread too old

Yeah, but apparently we should have been hoping for some one else to win, it’s what the cool kids are doing…

There's hope. He's MTB's Valverde.

I'd love to know how he manages to keep his recovery so on point race to race to race. Quite remarkable...

well I was rooting for Serano once Alan proved not up to the job today Davide has been slowly climbing up the order and looked good for much of the race. I'm not a fan of Nino. I think he's full of it

I will weigh in and say that I appreciate the process way more than I appreciate the outcome.

I love the racing, I love watching the tactics and the scrapping. I am honestly not emotionally involved in the outcome though. I couldn't care who wins as long as I am entertained.

It was cool to watch Louis Meintjies win today and it has been cool to watch Alan perform better this season, but I don't know them and whether they win or lose isn't important enough to me personally to have much of an effect on me.

Their job is to entertain me, so whoever does that best on the day gets my vote.

On a side note, I had a job that was all consuming. 100+ hour weeks, high pressure deadlines etc. I burnt out.

Nino's ability to stay motivated and stay at the pointy end of the field for so long is seriously impressive. I am whelmed

Im by no means a fanboy, but Nino is impressive to watch, his dominance by ni means makes the racing boring. Pidcock put in a really impressive race, and had some bad luck in the trees, twice, and Sam Gaze was also looking impressive till he crashed out, but that’s racing. Serrano was impressive, but just didn’t have what it took to keep up with Nino at the finish.

Nino is the 10x world champ because he dominates in terms of fitness, technical riding ability and tactics/strategy. I think he is allowed to be a little bit full of it.

Like with all world champs i suppose it seems to me that it is a bit of a lottery on the day, all the stars have to align AND you must be on the form of your life!

The one person who seemed to have that sorted was PFP, I'm more impressed by that than Al Nino's 10th, maybe just me though.

That taught those young whipper snappers a thing or 2 about how to win a WC 😎

Was surprised to see Pauline on a HT.

Wonder is that gave her more of a competitive advantage considering her massive winning time gap over Neff?
