No sign of any pine trees for seeds?

;)

Hehehe

I am sure there would have been, I totally missed out on looking for bonsai material. There are an abundance of rare and exotic trees to be found.

Next time I will defs poach some seeds.

;)

Spend Saturday working on bicycles!

Gentle ride around Northern Farm with my kids on Monday. Love that I can ride with my kids! My son getting pretty strong now so I have to work harder to keep ahead of him on the climbs now!

Houw Hoek Tour last Saturday and Sunday (what a fantastic event - W2W day 3 might just become legendary!) ... followed by a social ride at Oak Valley on Monday (where we were privileged to see three blue cranes in the dam!!!)

I was thinking that last week Sunday. We did the Sir lowries Pass 4x4 route, but there are chalets as well as mtb trails. I was thinking of spending 2 to 4 days there with the bike.

Other option was to join my friend cycle along the coast from langebaan to Sprinkbok in dec.

Both sound like great ideas, do all of it!

After weeks of planning a trip out to Buffelsdrift (my mates are adamant to prove to me it's better than VG )

Everybody's bikes got flu, TB and Ebola last night... So I decided to stay home, spend some daddy time with my little guy then had a massive mug of nostalgia and just did a quick local spin around my 'dorp

(haven't been through these gates in almost 25 years  )

Told myself to suck it up and joined a group doing a short slow ride today through Brakpan.

Dusty, coughing up some mine dump dust bunnies, I really need to ride with ppl more to force me to up my speed. Nice patient bunch - nice change of scenery from the bike parks.

Left home in Alberhoughton on the MonsterCross at 5:30 damn got colder down to 0° before it started warming a bit! Went to Kareekloof, Malonjeni game farm on the R42 Heidelberg road, Three Rivers Land Rover and on towards Bloekompoort about 10k's from the Vaal Dam. Then back home the same way, 50/50 split tar and dirt road.
