No riding this weekend - wimped out because of rain!

But I did meet none other than Tim Leatherman (the founder and CEO of Leatherman) on Sunday!

My daughter and me with Tim Leatherman at Mall of Africa

No chuckling at the bike please, it's the best rental bike I could find... The surroundings are pretty cool though. Sunseeker boats HQ in Poole, UK.

The bottom pic is a new build that leaves for an undisclosed private client in Monte Carlo later today. Sheesh, if I didn't feel poor enough traveling here with Randelas in my pocket, it's really hit home now... Haha.

Not much to see on my rides in the dark nowadays. But I find this nightriding somewhat calming and with not being able to see anything around me except wat comes up in the ray of light from my new Speedmaster 1000lumen I feel much more focused.

Only having to consentrate on the trail ahead helps me focus on my breathing and cadence vs power, especially on the climbs.

This pic might seem random, but those who now where it is will know what it takes to get here. 2690429f0129dfcc6b38749eae7dfee7.jpgEverytime I go over one of these bridges I'm pleased to see they are putting our club fees into the trails. In the past we had to stop and climb over the gate with our bikes. dcf401b83b61bd9caab738ccef152567.jpg

Checked out the Lombard's Terra face-lift, then pushed some lazy eyeball towards the mother city's man made mountain, trotting back home at Chinese tourist's in a rhino sanctuary's pace...

Harkerville red route today.

23km of mostly amazing single track through the forest and some fynbos, all the way to the cliffs and back. Pics taken at the rest stop about half way.

Well done to Cape Nature on maintaining the trail, well worth the trip and the R40 permit fees.

Reminds me of a Guns & Roses song:

"Take me home to paradise city

where the grass is green and the girls are pretty

Oh won't you please take me home! "
