Now four score and ... anyway a long time ago a good mate of mine and known to many Big Wayne taught me that this particular spot is the only place you need to brake on the way down! If you're looking up and focusing on the trail ahead you don't even have to cover the brake 😎

Anyway it's just always there at the back of my mind when I go there.

New climbing trail coming soon to my locals, should smooth out some steep sections on the jeep track that is currently used.

OT- at the trail head today there was someone who’s new bike day was not going well. After coughing up the equivalent of nearly ZAR 300k, the AXS controllers of his S-works Epic8 were not synching to the actual mechanics. Not a good advert for tech. Smart looking bike though.

Another commute HB - Paarden Eiland; cold, but dry, could HEAR the water coming down the mountain(s) (between HB and Bakoven, mainly) more than actually SEE it; beautiful pre-sunrise (dawn's early light, and all that...!).

Definitely the best way to start the day!
