looks like that steep road opposite the quarry.

Thanks, but still don't have a clue where that is.  It look like a really nice long hard climb away from traffic.

A MTD... Mechanical Twitter Device.

A farmer screams all his "k@k gedagtes" into the bottom of that thing and it broadcasts it to everybody in the surrounding area through the multidirectional megaphones at the top...

As far as I now she "retired" a decade or so ago and has not been seen since. Sightings were pretty common, one every few years, and then suddenly stopped.

Edit: Maybe hitch-hiking became too dangerous?

The road has moved about 100m north. That and her beau died some time ago.

Where exactly is this? Please. I want to go there tomorrow morning. I came in the other way. My exit is that way tomorrow.

IIRC she hitch hikes at the Willowmore sign just outside Uniondale. Might be the other way round. The road has moved a bit north in recent years tho.

IMO It's a unique and beautiful part of the country. Maybe not for everyone but I love the R62 and that sort of terrain.

We LOVE the Karoo, nice long open flats ...

Often ride the Route 62.

Done Baviaans a few times, then double back on tar to Willowmore .... maybe just tired by that stage, but that particular road is a verys special type of nothingness .....   :whistling:

From Willowmore down to Uniondale is better ....

Strange how it coincides with the advent of smartphones.

"Well did you get a picture?"
