  Yip, the pontoon or the "pont" in Afrikaans. For many many years it was pulled by the legendary Moxy Dunn.

Cyclists cross for free, bakkies etc are R 45.00

Not often that I get to ride:

  • someone else's bike;
  • during a week day in business hours;
  • without a helmet - stupid, yes. I was on a test ride to confirm frame size, not a race;
  • with a smile on my face like I'm a kid with a new toy;

All of that and no photo - so that means it didn't happen, right?

And we headed out on the old trusted roadie route to Faan Meintjes, nice and safe and the farmers out that way are very aware of cyclist as most if the roadies use it.. boy do they like this road business, not sure how I am going to get them back on the mtb's [emoji15] post-39623-1427393253,9601.jpg

I haven't been to Avianto in ages, a friend suggested I must try it again.

So glad I did.

the Western Blue loop is amazing! A lot of work has gone into these trails and they're not just fun, the route is a beautiful loop too.

Was a little tough on a rigid SS but I think that was a case of me needing to apply Rule #5 more than anything else today.
