I have a few youngsters to look after - read: who like attack to each other on the climbs. Going to be fun keeping the numbers in the tempo zone.

This weekend is supposed to be an eye-opener for the guys (and a few ladies) wanting to cycle down to PMB for the Amashova later this year.

If you don't mind me asking. What route do you use? How safe it it? I recon that's a lekker ride. Edited by Soapbox

Which route?

JHB to PMB, or the rides this weekend?

Posted

Germiston, Vereeniging, Reitz.

Reitz, Oliviersnek pass, Winterton

Winterton, Midlands, PMB

Most of the route is on the R103 from Sterkfontein Dam until PMB.

I'll send a link for the route later.

Went out to buffelsdrift.

I seriously need to learn how to be braver climbing AND descending rocky terrain.

Partner enjoyed it thoroughly, me - white knuckle of death coming down, braking too much, too hard.. On the uphills - not trusting the bike, bailing too soon. One day ...

Some pretty scenery though, but the single track section past the crocs was smelly, we went through there quickly - no crocs.

Managed to do something odd to my fork? Realised on the last stretch back it had bottomed out ????
