After being off the bike for 6 and a bit months after a really stupid crash I got out today. I reckon I hit the most perfect day imaginable for a comeback ride from Llandudno to Noordhoek and back.

A good weekend in the saddle - 263km.

 

Today's Race for Victory was an Argus seeding event in every sense. The (windy, headwind) ride home wasn't as bad as initially feared.

 

Nice to meet Prozac (inside the final 8km), of the R4V.

On my lonesome, from the Southern Suburbs through town, down the Atlantic coast and back. It was such a perfect day, Capetonians were out and about in all their diverse glory, and all in a good mood.

 

I went exploring a little and came across a "sculpture" about the human genome in front of the SA Museum. We really are all one people, I just wish all would understand that.

 

On the way back I ducked through the waterfront and had to wait a bit for the drawbridge. Getting forced to admire that view wasn't a bad thing at all.

A morning in Geneva. I've never felt so poor in my life.

 

 

On the way in to Geneva we went over the Col de Joux Plane. We wanted to ride it but I had a wheel issue so next year. It is a FEARSOME road from Samoen over past Les Gets and into Morzine. I'm deff not ready for it but next year...

 

That horrible little climb from Kloof Neck to the cable station. Take that and make it 11km long. That's the Joux Plane. The riders names were still painted on the road from this years tour.

Thanks man. A Euro holiday is nowhere near as expensive as you might imagine. If you stay away from the bars & restaurants you'll be fine. Accommodation can be very affordable.

 

Oh. Car rentals and Toll roads. OMG!!!!!!!

Its so dry that our "floating bridge" dam dried up completely . Then they started dismantling the bridge for scrap metal    .

 

The rain can't come soon enough , hopefully all this wind is bringing in the rain
