Just remember that without what us normal peeps would consider dangerous/stupid there'd be very little progression in any extreme sport.

I know. What I'm talking about is the hips to nowhere and quads that you carry way too much speed into. That sort of stuff. Retard building. It's not progressive. It's dumb.

Consider it done. Myself and Luke had machetes, just in case we needed to do just that in some places. Going there this weekend again, and will make sure to take it down on my first run. Also ask the guys I'm with to keep an eye out for anything in the way that ISN'T a feature.

Shot!  Maybe I'll catch you guys on the hill.

P.s. wrt that drop - remember #bonesmendpresssend

The people shuttle following the shuttle... Not easy shuttling 16 riders with a single bakkie and a trailer. Needs to be a constant stream, and the car was needed to ferry people as well.

Damn this looks like it was a rip!! Nice!!! Hope to get to ride in the Cape next year...

Safe enough...but bike's are meant to get scratched occasionally dude...

Depends on how well you protect it.

Bike I am ok with .... but stanchions = too much ZAR to replace.

Teh one that Karl etc pre-jump?

At 2m40 in the following vid. The one I'm still working up to hitting properly is at 20s

aha. I see.

More challenging for me is gracefully clearing that first table as you turn away from the fence almost at the top still.  Dodgily clearing it straight is one thing, any style whatsoever just eludes me.

I have never pre jumped the little drop before the table (2min40), I actually push down into the landing, and have more than enough speed to clear the table after that.

Interesting how riding styles are vastly different, and also line choices.

Time to strap my Gopro on for a ride soon.

Well I'm truly jealous of the great Sunday Funday everybody else had....

On account of family obligations I could only manage to go riding at 13:30 on Sunday afternoon, wanted to get some distance in the legs, and pointed my bike towards Stettyn Dam.

By this time it was extremely hot and windy and I suffered tremendously, first in the wind on the flats and then in the heat on the climbs towards the dam.

Ran out of water, but luckely there are a few mountain streams coming down with crystal clear cool water that I could fill my bottels with.

Seriously contemplated a quick cool down shower. 10fcc702c514bdc2423bbc72a2b0ff76.jpgMade my way up the last climb to the dam wall, many people only ride to the foot of the dam wall and then turn around, I feel you cant say you've been to the dam unless you've actually seen this view. 6b0d97a4b9b0623886a19f0972ac0a94.jpg
