Went out for a road ride this morning. From Worcester I set out on ths R43 towards Wolseley, turned left up Bainskloof Pass, snapped a few pics at the top and went back down the way I came.

On the way back to Worcester I turned of the R43 and rode through the beautifull Slanghoek Valley to try and dodge the wind, to no avail. Stopped of in Rawsonville for some refreshments and continued on home.

Was my first time up Bainskloof on the bike and what an experience it turned out to be. You see a lot of stuff on the bike that you don't see when driving in a car. 55bc10c14aef1448cfc9ec084cf1f59d.jpge4406ef4a21d6e2bd4c096e4b67500a5.jpg9cd735ddafb915ccf34ee2c7114dbaf3.jpgfe27ffbecbe9b213735462198c50c414.jpg

You know why seven is a lucky number? One bike for each day of the week! You know why 12 is a lucky number? One bike for each month of the year! :) You know why 52 is a lucky number? Come on, guess. Yes, one bike for each week of the year! (Why Hey You is into 80 something bikes I can only guess.......perhaps one bike per year for his expected lifetime? ;) )

Solo Karkloof road ride.  Some drills, Some Hills, a few sprints and a few photos.  After this weeks "wheelsucker" thread I gave the club ride a miss decided to enjoy unspoilt views for 100km  :)

You should have done a u-turn and jumped on the back of our group :) Then you could have added wheel sucking/motor pacing to your list of ride achievements. :P

Got lost up on Helderberg early Saturday morning. Is it just me or is the signage and trails all a blur - one big maze? Going up is pretty straight forward - down not so much.

Any ideas on what the best (read fun, fast, flowy with some jumps) routes are for going down - that I don't descend in what feels like 2minutes?  Seems like too much of a pedal for how quickly I was on a trail called "Mexican Border" missing the jumps, and most of the lekker trails I guess.  I kept ending up on the black DH routes - not ideal for riding blind, gnarly, but not fun.

My Strava from the sesh looks like a scratchpad...

Monday Rock & Roll (Blues is OUT)

Me-myself-I all the way from home, up the Liesbeek River Trail, to work in Claremont. Then up Bishopscourt to Kirstenbosch (SANBI, you deserve a medal for that sweet little single track loop at the top gate  ). Then Cork Oak Trail to Constantia Neck and back through the top of Cecilia Forest, past Kirstenbosch (SANBI, you deserve two gold medals for the roads, paths and boardwalks through your land. The piece of indigenous forest is totally enchanting. Your part is an example of how multi-use trails should be.  :clap:I wish SANParks would learn from you! ) Then through Newlands Forest to Rhodes Memorial and home. I'm stuffed, in fact so stuffed I cannot stop smiling!
