Well I feel totally inadequate to post here now after that ride of Velouria and his mates.

At least I can save some face by sharing my ride from Wednesday. Did about 32km with 820m of climbing. This was my first ride this year thst lasted till dark, maybe its because I'm so slow, or maybe because I only set out at 6:15pm in the evenings, either way it ain't a bad thing.

Went for a beautiful jaunt in the countryside this morning in search of the lesser spotted Karkloof Bullet.

I know we need the rain but what a pleasure it was to ride in ZERO mud today!

Trails were/are so flippen fast, even though the ride ended in near drama (tears of laughter and maybe even a little wee instead) FUN Gaalens delivered the goods properly today!!

 

Nice to see this strange thing called the sun for a change...

 

Went to church to say thanks for sunshine

 

Then ... when crossing a hanging bridge, one should cease to "race" and go one at a time.. otherwise a trampoline effect occurs

One mate almost got bounced off but luckily got entangled in the ropes instead.

Whats it with you okes from Joburg falling off the road? I remember a very similar incident here in Howick recently

PS: Anyone interested in dam walls, Google "Wolwedans Dam, Groot Brak Rivier", very interesting method they built the wall and apparently the biggest wall that has been built by this method in the Southern hemisphere.
