So yesterday afternoon I decided to stop using this wretched 6 week cold/flu as an excuse and went for a most beautiful spin along the Karkloof road.

I don't think I saw a single other cyclist. Pity, as it was the perfect weather for a ride.8f4b8674d4e4eac1b6338a6ce0369d6b.jpgd2a19c1f1e326e1300a7a7d3a10c71ae.jpg53f9f582b52c6bf645efbee0143926eb.jpg

Swartberg Pass and almost into die HellĀ  from Prince Albert .attachicon.gifTeeberg.jpgattachicon.gifswartberg 2.jpgattachicon.gifSwartberg 1.jpg

My favorite ride in the whole wide world by a seriously zig-zaggedy uphill mile

Ā

How does the washed away part at the entrance look? Are they working on it? How much progress? Do you think it will remain closed for long?

They are working on it. Only two short sections that are impassable by car. Local farmer says they were told 8 month time frame to complete.

More chasing through a section of the famous River trail was was set alight by arsonists on Thursday, but fortunately it was stopped, not before a fair bit of the reed tunnels were completely destroyed though :cursing:

Did my first 8 hr endurance event on Saturday at Castlewellan forest park. Every lap was brutal, no free metres, technical, rocky but brilliant. Also was the hottest day of the year so far in Northern Ireland so was good to be out.

Ā

Managed to break a hanger, damage a rim and tear a sidewall.
