That 4-legged spider you drew is serious poison in the legs.

Yup. It was pretty sore at the end there. Got to get strong for December. Gonna take my Fiance up to the mast at Tokai this weekend I think. I reckon that's the toughest single climb on the peninsula.

My bike hasn't taken me anywhere today, or anywhere this whole long weekend. The rain and thunder gods decided against it.

Mine neither, worked the weekend, had to braai yesterday and today [emoji57]

I'm still contemplating, thinking a lot. I'm on leave from Friday for 10 days, heading up to the "states", Free State that is where I have to cycle 50+kms to gain 100m and I'm so afraid of burning to death with the temperature in the upper 20's where we only had upper 10's so far in the glorious Garden Route up to now.

I only had to braai today. Was peeing buckets for the most part over the weekend this side. I took Saturday off.

Finally cracked the nod for the invite only Henderson outride.

The climbing is about to start

Halfway there, soon after this the road dissappeared

Finally at the top (almost). No road + big rocks = lots of walking

The top, from here we followed a 4x4 track straight down the mountain

And we had to get over the game fence. Cleats and all

The profile, check out the last bit.

be ready for some tequila next time I see you.

Potter told us you plotted it, and I can only guess you merely did a google map plot....... or rode it on a bakkie/motorbike

beautiful out there nonetheless

ps. stick with grass, the rocks are even worse

I've ridden most of it. Up from the Thomas would have been a hike-a-bike. But that's the only way through

Only one spot crossing the river after Bacela to hike.

And the hike over the mountain down to Irongate which was only about 500meters, but that view made up for it (down on the hardtail is a different story, I nearly shat myself a few times)

Went checking out the progress on a new link road between Gonubie and Beacon Bay.

Planning to use it to commute to work, will shorten the ride by 3km and cut out a dangerous portion along Old Transkei Road which has no shoulder as well as bypass the township which of late has become somewhat of a hot-spot.

Reckon another month or so and I'll be able to use it, some deep excavation on the one side is very iffy at the moment.
