  1. So I’m standing in the cue outside outside FNB, they have these lovely cue twice regulations now, and I look at the lady behind me and do a double take, she has an open Savanah in her hand! Not zero, normal savanah lite. Why should she do that and where did she gets it

Jeez... Savanah lite....I agree. Something is obviously wrong.

  2. Where does the bike hub community stand on this issue. This bike was advertised not long ago for R35k. I was sad I missed out when contacting seller. Now being resold for R50k. Is it just my bad luck or is this not right? https://bikehub.co.za/classifieds/item/dual-suspension-bikes/405564/specialized-epic-expert-xl-bm4187

    Been discussed many a time.

Not explicitly "Wrong", but nobody likes it...

  3. 1x11 = no (the freehub is not going to be wide enough for the 11s cluster), but 1x10 = maybe. And 1x10 is probably most of what you want. Be warned though that a 1x gearset on a 26" bike does not give you the same range of gears you can achieve with a 650b or a 29" wheelset. Still fun though.

You have 2 problems to solve -

    1. can you put a 10s cluster on the freehub (watch video below).

    2. What chainline can you achieve with your current crank? (assuming that you have a crank with replaceable chainrings - some are welded on). You want the front ring close to centered on the middle line of the cluster, or else you'll find the chain gets pulled off the chainring when you are in the outer ratios at the back. This likely means that you need to put a new single chainring in the middle position on the crank. Rapide has some well priced options - go for the wide/narrow chainring as this will help with chain retention.

Edit - if you can find one you can also include a bashring (they were popular a few years ago, not so much now). this helps with chain retention too.

    Good luck :D

This is true for older road wheelsets, but not for MTB 11sp cassettes.

An 11sp MTB cassette will fit on a 10sp freebody.

This all assuming OP doesn't have a screw-on style hub...

So this. Maybe I'm crass but a 7 year old bike with outdated Geo, old components etc... I would offer 20k at most.

BUT it comes with a Burry tag so does a paint job and Burry make it worth more?

Burry Dying was a tragedy, but his wife has moved on, surely we all should to? 65k is a whole lot of money for a really old, outdated 3rd hand bike

(Moving on does not mean forgotten).

Sweet. Looks like this guy just found a buyer for his bike. You're welcome!
