Opinions on the Baratza Encore?

Will only be used for Aeropress and French press until I move back to SA in about two years, when I will start looking at a decent espresso machine.

The price jump is too big, I am looking something proper for my current situation (aeropress and frenchpress), when I have a espresso machine setup, I will consider upgrading, but this is at least two years away.

i have been fortunate enough to get Porlex Mini grinder on Gumtree for R500 a while back, and with my espresso machine i really can't fault it, again the advice that was given to me was i'd get better results from my porlex than i would from the grinder above, my only con i have is i have people over, then i need to grinder per cup...

in your case, using the frenchpress and aeropress, i'd say get the normal Porlex grinder ie not the mini, http://capecoffeebeans.co.za/collections/coffee-grinders/products/porlex-tall-hand-mill-coffee-grinder

i had one of this before the porlex and the only fault i had was its a bit uncomfortable in my hand, however results were close if not the same
