horrible :(

Circumstances?

Rider crashed into him, succumbed to injuries at the hospital.

"John, thank you for your efforts on the scene but I'm horrified to report that Jeremy (the marshal) has died. I would be grateful if you could PM me so we can get in touch - I'd like to hear more about those events. Thank you. Mark"

They actually sent out a communication about it beforehand. that they reusing last years ones with the added piece at the top. There view ot is environmentally more friendly to reuse that to get new ones made. actually agree with them

It seems "environmentally more friendly" is becoming a very good euphemism for "cheaper".

But yeah, practical.

Team DJR had a fantastic day out, well, 3 out of the 4 had a fantastic day out. The youngest D punctured twice and missed his target time. For a change his older brother beat him by a few minutes. DJR senior did a slow but steady ride, but still came in a bit under 6 hours. Not bad for an 80 year old. As for myself, my backside is toast, not having done such a slow one for a long time, but it was fantastic to ride with the old man, to chat to people, help a bit here and there and generally just to soak up the very good vibe. The Cape really put its best foot forward today!

Beautiful New backdrop at the start!

Personally I had such a brilliant day. The 1A,1B,1C mix of a group I rode in was generally well behaved (with the odd exception) - hearing that 3 people died today does put a damper on things. Very sad to hear this - condolences to the families & friends affected.

Who instructs where the marshalls must stand. We shot around a lady with a flag and a cameraman hiding behind her going down towards noordhoek shopping centre. Cyclists going past her on both sides. Was complete madness where she was standing, we were all going at least 50km/h. Didn't see any marshalls on llundundo descent was to busy sucking wheel

I'm afraid so - he was my friend. We lost a good one today.

So sorry for your loss. Never easy to lose a friend.

Condolences to his family and loved ones.

Also sad for the 2 cyclists who also lost their lives.

May they all RIP.
