Imagine if they just had groups numerically, starting at 1...

Maybe they have never thought about it. It would make things a lot less complicated. Suggest it to them.

Wonder what the reason is for all the funny groupings.

The groups(if a team is considered a group) for DC, Maluti are numbers.

Any info on a leg loosener the saturday before the race? Is there still a group doing a suikerbossie ride or something similar?

All depending on the interest. I used to put a ride like this together, but for the last few years the response was poor. It did not warrant me driving from the Northern Burbs for a 35km ride and a coffee, so I canned it.

But on the Saturday, there are literaly thousands of guys doing this, so you'll always have company on the ride.

The long term weather for cast for the day shows:

Sun, Mar 10 http://weather.news24.com/Images/Icons/Forecasts/1.gif Sunny. Mild.  28°C 19°C 25km/h SE 63% 29°C Moderate  *

1%

If this hold or the wind becomes less it should be nice day out on the bike.

Accuweather says

SSW13km/hr, Gusts up to 44km/hr

13 to 24 degrees C

looks like it will be tougher than 2018

Is it too early to start discussing the weather on the day?

It's still next month, which is a long time for some people, but c'mon like IT"S NEXT MONTH

How could it be too early to discuss the weather, especially the wind?

It's never too early, so it's not to early now.

let's go.

The brains at accuweather will give you a weather forecast for as long as the ANC is in power.

If the wind is from the south west, then that means a tail wind home from Scarborough. No complaints from me then. I'll take a tail wind happily. Also, being a South Westerly, it means the first half to the start of Smitswinkel will be pretty much protected from the wind due to the mountains blocking the wind. The bit from the top of Smits to Scarborough / Misty Cliffs will have a bit of a headwind, but that is not too bad, as it's mostly downhill anyway.

I had similar conditions on Saturday, and it was no problem at all. The SE on the other hand, is a baas-ted.

The only issue I foresee is that complete cock-up when getting to the turn-off to Chappies at Sun Valley. The road works on Saturday left no impression in my mind that that stretch of road is going to be anywhere near finished come race day.

I foresee some big crashes there if that be the case.
