Forthelove misleading, incorrect dodgy seller on bikehub

throttles

Recommended Posts

Looks like forthelove/Gary Smith is part of the JMBC Groupride groups so people might see him and ride with him but not know who he is and his antics.

throttles I'm sorry you got ripped, R 1250.00 or so but move on already otherwise this is going to eat away at you. Now you're stalking him on his group ride! Getting creepy. That helmet is butt ugly anyway. Sorry, should not have typed that but my filter is old and tired.

Enuff now!

I think any 2nd parts (not complete bikes) should be given away for free in the name of community biking good will

Then people cant be ripped off if they got it for zout

Reminds me of the post where someone gave away a part, only to see later it was advertised for sale by the person he gave it to.

At some stage one has to decide what to do next, and move on. For me, personally, I  try to do that sooner rather than later because otherwise the negative energy drags me down and I hate what that does to my mental state........now if it was my wife on the other hand........she would NEVER let it go....... .......OK, perhaps after full payback, an apology, some grovelling, a bunch of red roses and a fair amount of time!  ;)

IMO and sorry if this has already been stated, but if the seller went off his head the way he did and even threw in a few threats here and there about case numbers etc because he never received the funds immediately as he had hoped for, then I seriously doubt he will be refunding you because judging by the way he acted, He needed/wanted that money ASAP and most likely doesn't have the finances to be able to refund you.

Now before I get attacked, I am by no means justifying the sellers actions and personally if I were the OP, I would also be demanding my money back and I wouldn't care how the OP got it back to me either, But I'm just saying from what I've read in this post from both the OP and the seller, The latter has zero moral compass and this thread probably doesn't even bother him much.

OP, I truly hope this ends in the way we all want it to end, by you getting a refund.

That was funny

Ja nee, whenever there is a human in the equation the likelihood of conflict increases 100%

I will contribute R20. If everyone else on this thread contributes we can close it and move on.

Fixed.  :whistling:

Something I generally do when buying or selling something and yes I know you should not judge a book by its cover, But a look see here and there on social media often helps distinguish if the buyer/seller is a genuine and or good person. Ofcourse not everybody has FB but I try and make  myself comfortable  and then would chat and ask questions until I am 100% comfortable with the person I am dealing with.

And here is a perfect example of not judging a book by it's cover, Gary Smith seems to be on FB, judging by the pics he is a MTB'er and in the pics I saw, seems he is wearing those Rudy Project glasses(couldn't spot the helmet), But I would probably have done business with him too just by the looks of his FB profile... Lesson learnt for me here aswell.

Throttles, if you have time on your hands, perhaps you should investigate the legality of that SMS, in terms of falsely declaring a SAPS case number, or implying SAPS involvement. Is this not akin to impersonation of a SAPS official, which is a criminal offence, punishable by jail time in SA?

Maybe it's time to put some skrik in forthelove / Gary Smith. Maybe next time he will think twice when he plans on impersonating a box for the day.

Not sure it applies to impersonation of a police officer or jail time.

It is however definately illegal to threaten someone with police action, using false information or not. In fact it does leave it open for the OP to lay charges/open a civil case.

The other problem now is that this could create liability issues for Admin as well, should legal action be pursued.

Gary Smith's R&R is over so he went back to the oil rig.

Was he selling on behalf of his cousin?
