Today he gets attacked by a gull...!! You can't make his bad luck up.

Maybe it was striaght off the set of "Finding Nemo,.... again" and got to into it's lines while singing "M...m..m...m...myyyyyyyyy Molema!"

 

The Dutch National team always seem to underperform. Too much internal pressure.......:rollseyes:

That left such a sour taste in my mouth. I never really liked him but that was just the cherry on top. I'm not surprised he doesn't last long in teams if that's the way he acts.

As of late (Past few months) he has been having a dig at CSA and how incompetent they are ( I think most agree anyway) and the selection panel and process used to select the team for World Champs. 

In all honesty, After that video he posted after SA champs where he tried so hard to burn the medal but obviously never got it right, So chucked it in the bin (black bag) because of it's "poor quality" and because it had "SA Road and Para-cycling champs" on it, I'm not sure why he thinks CSA would select him fopr Worlds anyway. As far as I'm aware having been a sportsman my whole life and being snubbed of national team caps myself for reasons out of my control, At no stage is any sports board OBLIGED to select athletes. And you do yourself even more harm than good when you throw your toys like a little kid all over asocial media, then still expect those same people you just gaslit, to select you to represent them!! The oke has MAJOR issues.

To be fair „the oke“ is plying his trade as a pro cyclist in an extremely tough and competitive environment while us armchair pros read about it on insta or whatever

i take my hat off to him, and if he gives CSA the gears then I would think he has good reason to, as you said most would agree…..

Something else happened, but not too sure exactly what it was. Tyre was still intact when she lost control. I've watched it in slowmo multiple times and it seems the chain malfunctions, which throws her weight forward(bad idea), which then makes her lose control.

Whether you like Willy or not is irrelevant,he is 100% correct whith the selection process for worlds.The politics behind the scenes are on the same level as our government.

Once again (with the exception of Pasio) we send a team that will be utter embarrassment.Some with zero international racing and barely made top 10 at SA nationals but somehow are deemed fit to represent at worlds.

My selection for worlds would be simple.

1.You are current SA champion.

2.You currently race overseas at a acceptable level(not club racing).

My selection for worlds would be simple.

1.You are current SA champion. - Correct

2.You currently race overseas at a acceptable level(not club racing). - Agreed somewhat, Marc Pritzen is going and he has been racing locally and won almost every race he entered, also ex SA Road Champ and Podium again this year.

My point has got nothing to do with liking him or not, I started the Willie Smit thread because of all his hard work and how great it was to see behind the scenes etc, It's 100% got to do with the fact that after nationals, All over social media on a video blasted CSA because of the medals and the quality of them, and has never since apologized on the same channels he took to lambaste them on. But now expects to be selected to represent the same body who he continues to drag through the mud week in week out. His mindset of entitlement and then throwing his toys all over social media is embarrasing for a professional athlete to say the least.

Not arguing over mens team with you ,agree guys there have done the time but if you look at woman’s and juniors they have sent some of the choices are unexplainable.

I do hope that when okes like Willie retires, puts effort into joining CSA and try to make things better.
