Newish to road races (got most of my seeding from mtb races), where would a seeding index of 20 put me for the CTCT starting groups typically? Early enough for a decent crack at a sub-3?

Agg I’ll keep my sub 3 kit for Saturday 😉

Okay, that is true. Wonder if they are going to release a new sub 3 kit?

Around C.

Looking at a year with good weather, a few 1C riders did get sub-3. So possible, if weather plays along and a nice group work together

What @HdB said - somewhat borderline, on a good weather day your group will be in the mix. Average weather you might have wished for a slightly better seeding...

Nah bud. Ever since covid my folks haven't been down for their usual 2 week holiday in Fish Hoek. The last 2 races, just my Dad and I have gone down Friday morning, come back Sunday afternoon and we have stayed at the protea hotel at the waterfront. TBH this hotel is like the perfect location for the race. Takes us less than 10 min to ride to the start. Takes us 10 min to walk to the expo. After the race its like 5 min free wheel from the finish. We are literally right over the road from the aquarium so we just walk to the waterfront for chow. It is so convenient.

facebook popped up an ad on Sunday, Travelstart was running a special until midnight. Worked out about R800 cheaper for a 1 way ticket. (dont you hate that they advertise a certain price and once you get into it they add airport tax and other rubbish).

So flight booked. Will be driving back with my friend.

Accommodation booked at whats become my favourite spot in Muizenberg for a bachelor trip to CPT.

Bike will do a detour to PE first with my friend.

I too have entered.

If anyone is looking for a social good time ride let me know.

I'm in such poor shape it will need to be done on a proper size bike this year

Pick me! pick me!😅

But ill be riding at the back with the Mrs again though.

if not,  im keen do do something dumb like try it SS, or on the vintage-masochist-roady or even more dumb…on a long travel mtb🤣

i might be able to keep up with you this time I hope. seeded in 2 last year, but smashed(in my terms) winelands the other weekend, with 99’er to come as well.

edit: my gravel bike is so big…the exact opposite of yours…so lets dress as laurel and hardy👀

Here's hoping all your health issues are in the past and that you get back to your endurance levels soon

I'm definitely going to ride the pistachio comfort bus.

Let me know how you get on and where you might start. I'm likely to stop for coffee and a snack at some point and really soak up the gees
