Thanks. We're very lucky to be able to ride these routes. It's quite a special area from a cycling perspective. Hopefully, it cools down enough this weekend to attempt Mt Ventoux. We need to recce the route before Stage 16 of the TdF at the end of the month.

Been cruising Cape St Francis trails this week.

really cool local loops set up by cycling club

joined them for the weekly shop ride

you need a MTB here just for the potholes on the tar roads!

 

 

 

 

HBomb now has a real bike, an XS 26er that he will eventually grow into. smashes every jumpo in sight

Mont Ventoux - The Giant of Provence. Climb on gravel, descend on the road. 2000m of climbing in 30km is no joke but the views were beautiful, not to mention climbing this legend… 😅😅

HB - Waterfront commute, the time for mudguards has arrived! No actual rain on way in, save for a drop or two, but lots of standing water, so am going no need mudguards - will get to that this week...

the Bascule bridge was just going up as I arrived, so a happy 10 minutes spent watching the Waterfront come alive.

Was interesting to see NESTING PIGEONS go from nesting/roosting flat to 90-degrees vertical, and back to flat, as the bridge raised/dropped. Very adaptive creatures!

...1st charter was leaving the moorings at 06.45, to collect his breakfast-cruise customers!

best of luck getting back into it.

I'm giving it until the end of the week before attempting to ride again, body is still feeling weak after my bout of swine flu last week.
