Nature decided to remind us that it is not summer in Gauteng; Monday is the winter solstice, so technically still autumn.

As Frosty said, the weather reminded us it’s not spring yet. Sun did not come out until after 9 this morning. 
If you zoom in on the first pic you can see the sun as a small red ball.

It always amazes me to see the striking contrast between Gauteng and the Cape this time of year. The Cape becomes green and lush and Gauteng becomes dreary and dry. Then in December the roles are reversed again. The only thing that still gives the Cape the edge that time of year is all the green vineyards bearing a fresh harvest.
