Where has your bike taken you today?

As per usual Tokai.

For some reason the baboons were in extra stroppy mode today and actually made me back off away from the entrance to the Boulders trail. Ended up waiting ten minutes for them to take their fight elsewhere and then carried on.

Next time I'll give you the phone number of my friend Gary, he'll come intimidate them off the trail for you! I saw how he used "super Hub aggro" on them one day and they fled like wimps. I tried it a few times and it scared ME too much, so now I go around them too when I'm alone. They definitely have become much more cocky over the years.

I normally ride around but today was different, they were having a major ruck either side of the jeep track and then one of them noticed me and took offence at my presence. I backed off and let the dust settle for ten minutes and then carried on.

Where my bike took me the long weekend. A tale of sorts.

Friday - No riding, but popped in at Cycle Factory to pick up some bling

Saturday - Paul Cluver. No riding pics as my phone bombed out, but did take some pics of where we stayed and my way there. If ever you're heading out that way and are looking for a great place to stay drop in at Porcupine Hills. 20mins from Cluver, but removed enough from it all.

Not today, but over the week-end: Had a frame crack on the full suspension, so took my old bird for a coffee date in Jonkershoek on Saturday. Rattled her dentures down Canaries... Then cheated on her the next day with a wild Banshee (awesome ride btw).

Oak Valley this morning. Beautiful part of the Cape. Bumped into farm manager, what a friendly guy. Some trail etiquette what do you do when cow and calf blocking the single track when calf if suckling(???) on mother. Did not want to scare them and just waited.

nice, yes agreed great guy, once one of riders in a group forgot he's helmut, he did not want to ride, even though he had he's "hardhat" in the car.

Eventually i knocked on the door of the farm manager/owner he lent he's son's helmut no questions asked!

The Venom seems to have some new routing which has some brutal climbs which I pushed/walked up. Still a great trail. I'd heard the Viper was very technical so was prepared to walk when it looked to rough or steep. Well that was the most fun I've had recently, challenging with short steep climbs followed by nice twisting up and down rollercoasters and stayed on the bike all the way. If you're from the area or visiting, ride these trails if you have not yet.
