I had work in Germany and managed to arrange a training camp based in Porte de Pollenca for a week.

It was beautiful time to get all my mental monkeys on a single branch.

Temps were perfect for rolling all day.

Training partner en route to the Cap de Formentor lighthouse.

AWESOME!!!

I've ridden in Italy and France but for me Mallorca was by far the best for road riding. It feels unfair to earmark specific roads. I loved them all. But Col de Soller and Sa Calobra were my favorites. Sa Calobra and Cap Formentor on new years day was pretty special.

We were based in Soller to be "close" to Sa calobra. Went to Pollenca. What a beautiful place Mallorca is.

To anyone considering a road cycling holiday. Mallorca is off the rails good.

Please keep the pics coming.

Some gravel grinding this weekend in the Drc

This was the 1st time plotting a route and riding on the GPS.

Where in the DRC are you?

15 Years ago we built Lumwana mine in Zambia. We used to drive to Lubumbashi to buy Simba beer. A whole day trip.

Been meaning to check those trails out for a while, what are they like?

I've been slowly ramping up my distance, and I found this quite challenging. I'm most definitely still a beginner.

It was quite warm already - we got there a bit later than planned.

The descents were quite technical and full of loose rocks / gavel and quite a few spots had rocks that stuck out that were quite sharp and required some good maneuvering.

I came off once at a low speed. The front washed out as I wanted to turn and power up a hill.

You can get up to 32km I think if you do another little section which seemed super technical, so I avoided that one.

I enjoyed it. Would do it earlier in the morning before the sun gets crazy, and perhaps I could do a better time.
