I’m always amazed that someone who is “so important” has time to comment here with us little people.

The superiority in nearly every post he places online is overpowering.

Just would think that he has better places to be and more important people to talk to.

I disagree.

Everyone is welcome here, beginners, professionals, even over the hill old guys (me?). Everyone should have a safe place here to voice their opinions, but always with a good measure of respect. Just like everyone should have the freedom to disagree, sometimes strongly, and still be welcome.

Simple for those who need harder sense and not common sense

2 cyclists middle of the road when there are signs that says single file. they clearly ignoring road rules in South Africa. Yet bitch about cars getting fed up with cyclists.

1 motorists trying to get passed on a solid line - again no go but you have 2 guys disobaying well known road rules. How long he been behind etc no one knows.

Runners on the wrong side of the road

3 wrongs dont make a right but dont point fingers when you 1 of the 3

the runners are on the right hand side of the road facing the oncoming traffic, this is where they are supposed to be.

It has been mentioned that runners are not allowed on this section of chapmans ..... but that is only after 10am, if im not mistaken this photo was taken before 10am

With all due respect to your arse -- 9kmph up chappies is f@#@ing slow

All of my 117 kilo's and both my 2.40" tyres have a tendency to disagree with your sentiment. From Houtbay side that hill is a breeze. From Noordhoek side it's a different kettle of fish. I don't know the exact speed I go, but I get passed by all the other riders whenever I attempt that hill.

Chappies is a special place when you are on a bicycle!

In my fathers' 80th year, I rode his last CTCT with him.

Picture us slowly grinding up Chappies at near-track-stand pace. He called it slow-and-steady. Half way up we noticed an old cycling buddy / adversary of his, also in the same age group, sitting on the stone wall taking a break ......... I asked "Dad, do you want to pull over and say hi?" Meaning to make a safe way for him through the crowds, good domestique that I was on the day. "Hell NO" was his somewhat breathless reply. "This is my chance to put some time on him!"

And we did!

That is a good memory to have. A cherished moment for sure.

Basic common sense really. I've always driven like this everywhere. Motorists who claim they are being held up by cyclists because of a sold white line are simply being obtuse.
