  1. Maxxis CrossMark 2 (Front and Back) Very Good Tyres for Cross Country and Road Riding Mix They Last at least Twice as Long as Icons.
  2. It is possible that your calipers are not set Right or Disks are Contaminated. If they are set Right and Disks are Good Then: https://www.ate-na.com/products/ate-plastilube-brake-lubricant/ Just a bit on the back of the Pads and Pins. (You got to be so Careful That None of It gets on the Front of the Pads and Disks. Midas Edenvale Got Stock 103 ZAR If your Disks are contaminated Wash With Car Wash Neat and a Toothbrush Make Sure to Work Hard on the Holes in the Disk. It's Essential to take the disks off the Wheel Otherwise you Will end up with Bent Disks. Contaminated Disks Look Off Color - Brownish Blueish (look at the holes there is something inside).
  3. It's Better to Get a Full Groupset To Make Sure that everything is compatible. https://bike.shimano.com/en-US/product/component/deore-xt-m8100.html https://bike.shimano.com/en-AU/product/component/deorext-m8000.html Some Configs Require a Rear Hub Rework.
  4. There must be a reason for this ? The Bike Shops Should be Adding Oil and Soaking the Foam Rings before Delivery of the Bicycle. This Fork Wasn't Bone Dry Either. (Just enough oil to Stop It Rusting)
  5. Rockshox Fork on New Bike Less than 50Km Done. Only 1 ml of oil in the Lowers Both Sides (Should be 6ml) Foam Rings were also dry. Damper Oil Height was to spec (80 to 85 mm to Crown). Everything Else Was Good.
  6. I Know this is not what you asked but you can just change the Wheels to 27.5 "
  7. When you first got the Bike Were you Happy with the brakes ? My Shimano Brakes (not XTR) on 2 Bikes also feel Spongy but the Back Wheel Locks when I press hard and they release properly so I just ride it like that. I went to LBS Last Week and Felt the Brakes on Various Bikes and they also Felt Spongy. (The Lever Does not Come to An Abrupt Lock like Car Brake Pedal Does)
  8. That's Strange I have used it on many phones and it has always sorted the exact issue that you are having. You could try to convince your phone supplier to exchange the phone. It is rare but GPS chips can fail (Weak Reception) on phones and watches. Try Setting the phone to GPS only (Still using GPS Lock) So it does not look for Towers and Internet. Try Setting Auto Pause in Strava to (Off) If you can try to Mount the Phone Face Up on the Handlebars or at least change to Another Pocket and Try to Get it Top Side Up if you can. Looking at your Map it Looks Like a Pause or Total Loss of Signal Twice.
  9. There is an App called GPS Locker (Free with Adds) https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.silentlexx.gpslock&hl=en_ZA&gl=US Run the App First it will get a GPS Lock Leave the App Running (It will keep Location Services and GPS Active.) Start Strava Enjoy your ride.
  10. There is Water in your "fluid". Flush and Bleed before ordering Parts. (Replace all the Brake Fluid)
  11. Scott MTB's Are Available (Not All Models) Was at LBS Yesterday and saw stock on hand.
  12. I would personally take the 930 and pocket the 8k and get the Shimano Setup Initially. Changing over Later Will Require Work to the Rear Wheel etc etc. (and Vast Expense). (The Fork is slightly better on the 920 but will it make a difference.) I also like that Muddy Green colour on the 930 My Personal Experience with an Sram Drive train was not Pleasant after 40 Years of Hapiness with Shimano.
  13. You can't go Wrong with that Bike. You need to test ride it though. Not all bikes suit all people.
  14. How Long is a Piece of String If you don't have a Good Eye or Wear Glasses.
  15. I once had a chain that was very dirty. (I don't de grease anything on a bicycle.) I put it in an old frying pan with some Magnatec Synthetic and rattled it around a bit. After an hour or so it came out very very clean and well lubed. Ride was very quiet. I was very Impressed with the results. Of course It's not practical to keep taking the chain off the bike. A disadvantage of using Oil as Opposed to Wax is that the oil does tend to fly out and can contaminate the rim spokes and brakes. Wax based Lubes will be here forever and if used correctly can achieve full life of the chain and other components of the drive train. The Black stuff you see on the chain actually tells you that you are lubing correctly. It comes out from the steel in the inside of the chain. Clean it off with a Rag and add new lube.
  16. Off Topic, How Much Pressure do your tubeless MTB tyres lose in 1 Week.? Thanks.
  17. Battery Performance Depends of how many cycles on the Battery and on the Age of the Battery. A cycle is Charge and Then Discharge. Generally a Lithium Ion Battery Lasts for 300 to 500 Cycles. https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=&cad=rja&uact=8&ved=2ahUKEwjEgLv67rnuAhVVwuYKHUG9DO8QFjAIegQIBhAC&url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.newark.com%2Fpdfs%2Ftecharticles%2Ftektronix%2FLIBMG.pdf&usg=AOvVaw2tdymNTQu3DO0X_mRDLi0t To Prolong the Life of a Lithium Ion Battery Charge to 80% (Will Get More Cycles before it Starts Getting Weaker)
  18. I put the bike on it's side. I coated the inside of the Bearing Cup with the Epoxy and just pushed the bearing in. Did One Side at the time. It sets within 1 hour or so.
  19. I have taken an Interest in Learning the Inner Workings of Garmin FIT Files. If you have an activity that fails to upload to Garmin Connect or Strava you can post the FIT file here and I will try to recover the Data in Full or Partially so that it can be manually uploaded to Garmin Connect or Strava. The File needs to be Zipped as theForum does not accept the FIT extension. dodgy.zip
  20. Thanks for that. We are not talking about smooth and swept . We are talking about having to port your bike through some sections of the yellow route. Got hold of them on FB and they gonna look at it.
