Once found their tracks covering my mtb tracks of the previous evening, in the Winterberge. My brother & I once free camped in the Baviaanskloof on an unsupported bike ride - one day into the kloof, find sleeping spot, next day back. No rain was forecast and we decided against taking a tent. Woke the next morning with some very fresh, very big cat spoor within a meter of our sleeping spot. Closest one was in lower Tokai, 50 m from the nearest houses. One above Vredehoek was stalking a francolin when we buzzed it on the mtb and messed up its' lunch plans.
