The magic test to ensure a sub-3 94.7

Ta - I don't do the short cut, 's just plain wrong. But I think I need to calibrate my polar - I get 60 something k's. Maybe I just weave a lot... :)

(And now I can rephrase my 94.7 question - how long does it take you to go around SBR on MTB and on road bike... :D )

As far is I know the full loop is 62km's.

Looks like the group dropped you blush.gif 260 sub 3 hour finishers in group D ohmy.gif

The front group sure did (early on) but those 'loser' middle of the bunchers couldn't ;)

Yep, I also belong to that club...2010 94.7 time - 3:02:05

But like you say, if you pushing with everything you have, that's the way it is.

but the bad thing is you'll always blame yourself and think there might have been some area were you could have pushed just a liiiiitle bit harder.

The only time I haven't done a sub 3 was on my MTB. :D

Did one riding easy from "H" bunch this year.

edit: and SBR has not featured in one of my pre-rides

My formula....

HTFU

+10

I'm predominantly a roadie, did my 1st MTB stage race early Oct (3Towers), i learnt what pain was then and realised how much harder i can push.

Did a very comfortable (for me) 2:52 with pushing a couple other boys to get them home Sub 3 in the COW herd. Then a 2nd lap to push Ice Cream carts.

Last year, i did 4 laps at SBR in 3 days in 1 week. I felt 10x worse last year than i did this year.

When you think you're pushing hard enough during training, HTFU and push harder is my key to Sub 3's. Do proper structured training.

Split calcs don't take into acc weather, this year, kinda headwind at the beginning, tailwind at the end.

Hope you guys had an enjoyable day out on your bikes regardless of the time you rode!

It's that time of year again....

Any other interesting metrics to predict a sub-3 94.7?

what does your avg speed need to be to sub 3?

And what you need to have done the tour of Durban in to have a chance at sub 3 - 94.7

And /or the amashova ?

Just going to spitball here, but maybe 94.7/3 = 31.57km/h? ;)
