dave303e Posted July 24, 2020 Posted July 24, 2020 I got lucky with some New Balance fuelcell impulse at sportsmans on sale ±1500 and then the other day on takealot a pair of Adidas Boston 8's for just over R1000, keep an eye out there are deals around
Hacc Posted July 24, 2020 Posted July 24, 2020 Maybe we can arrange a group buy and save on shipping? Also been eyeing one for a while, but decided to wait for Rand/$ to improve before I finalised my purchase a few months back...I am interested, please DM me more details

But you need to know your prices when shopping through them to ensure you are actually getting a "Deal".
dave303e Posted July 24, 2020 Posted July 24, 2020 The last few weeks I have noticed minor inconveniences with Covid and running, out for long run the usual pee/dump spots(park, Gym and public toilets) are all closed. I am usually happy to bury it in the bush, not so much on the spruit or the streets. Planning longer runs better now. I also miss judged water on a long run the other day and ran out with about 10km to go. Then it hit me, the usual taps I have mapped out in my mind are really not a great life decision to drink from anymore... Thanks The Pegasus is more of an everyday runner and can be used for the longer runs too. Pegasus Turbo is more of a racer. Ignoring price the Nike Next % and Alphafly are the proper racers as I'm sure you know. From short distance and all the way up. What about Adidas Adizero range? I'm not too familiar with the Adidas though. Check out Seth James Demoor on YouTube if you haven't already. He does a daily video and does lots of shoe reviews. Vetplant and Zama7 2

Nike have dropped the Turbo's from the Peg Range, the 37's are more racier than the previous versions but still and all round shoe. The Zoom's & Streaks are the more price conscious racers and are great. NB makes some options 1400/1500/Hanzo that often come in at a reasonable price.

ridr Posted July 24, 2020 Posted July 24, 2020 I am interested, please DM me more detailsAnyone else want to volunteer to oversee a group purchase of the RUNN and check cheapest option for getting it here (via one of the guys overseas that have offered or via direct website delivery option)? Otherwise I'll do it.
Wayne Potgieter Posted July 24, 2020 Posted July 24, 2020 (edited) Anyone else want to volunteer to oversee a group purchase of the RUNN and check cheapest option for getting it here (via one of the guys overseas that have offered or via direct website delivery option)? Otherwise I'll do it.I did a little look. Domestic use has them for $189 each I reckon I can get 4 of them into a small courier box that is insured and tracked to South Africa for $79.00 That’s roughly $840 for the lot or $210 each. Rough exchange rate right now is R11.05 to the NZD so that’s R9.282.00 for the package. Or R2,329.50 each. I obviously have not tried to get discount from Domestique, this is all going on local web store prices. Not sure how long the package would take but the site claims it would take 3-6 days( seems a little quick to me). I am basing this on NZPOST which is very reliable. Then obviously there may be costs to split it up in RSA and get it to individual buyers. I just used four as a random example to stretch out the courier. Feel free to adjust accordingly. Ben from domestique is a good guy. He responds almost instantly to Facebook messages and is super helpful. I am pretty certain we can get a bit of discount for a bigger purchase. The runn charges with a micro USB charger so you shouldn’t have issues with international plugs. Nz can be a little on the expensive side for electronics because we are so far from everywhere else. I suggest checking Europe as that might be a cheaper option. Edit. Spelling is hard. Edited July 24, 2020 by Wayne Potgieter

Vetplant Posted July 26, 2020 Posted July 26, 2020 Quite amazing how slow the newsfeed is on my Strava these days, compared to a normal weekend. Clearly allot of people run Garmin devices. Riaan H and Frosty 2
