Dopers suck

From Cycling SA's latest email:

"Cyclists serving a doping sentence would typically be banned from competing in any cycling races for the duration of their ban, whether sanctioned or not. Unfortunately, we have seen that at events that are not sanctioned, riders serving bans have been allowed to participate. Once investigated, offenders could receive an extension on their doping ban as stipulated by SAIDS (South African Institute for Drug-free Sport)"

Oh man it would make my day to see the smug smile wiped of Kevin's face if his ban is extended for participating in the K2C

(Although clearly the CSA comm is not referring to the K2C because that is just a funride hey D&D?)

*UPDATE TO THIS POST DATED 8 NOVEMBER 2018

We have received correspondence from SAIDS with regards to Kevin Evans’ participation in cycling events prior to his ban being lifted and SAIDS has extended his ban by one month. Evans is banned from the sport until 27 March 2019.

How does CSA have jurisdiction over an event they have not sanctioned...

Maybe they picked up Gary's big stick and are seeing where it gets them. I suspect not very far.

Besides, Kevin retired. What good is extending his ban going to do. Keep him from finishing an official 7th in elite for 4 more years, for life, till his resurrection?

Would it be doping if a cyclist smokes dagga?

banned in competition only.

You smoke it in the off season but it lingers for around 6 months so you walking on a ledge.

Cannibis oil I guess will be removed in 2019 although its not specifically mentioned in the SAIDS medication check

Yes 1 month is not going to do anything in the larger scheme of things, but for me it's about the principle.

I will believe KE is truly retired when he is not trying to race at the sharp end of the field after his ban has lifted. Sportspeople cancel their retirement all the time, I think that was just a very convenient statement from him at the time of his ban.

I suspect it's more about them having jurisdiction over Kevin. He still needs to comply with the rules under which he was found guilty.

CSA have no jurisdiction on the event but they do have over the banned rider and can thus extent his ban.

Even if KE has retired from racing, CSA is preventing him from riding his bike 9in races (which is his punishment) for a month longer and I think they will extent it again if he should ride another race.

yes sure they have jurisdiction over his license and can extend the reissue of this as long as they want but as mentioned,......he's retired.

Sure sports people come out of retirement (that ego thing), realise it was a k&k idea and go back into retirement. Extending his ban only serves a purpose if he is no longer retired.

Hes morphing into an instagram model now

He was dishonest in the sport of cycling irrespective of who has jurisdiction over the organised event. Just serve the ban as it is stipulated and don't compete or participate in an organised event, show some respect and that a lesson has been learned.

If you wish to teach him your morality then there are avenues for this. Maybe start with some morality pamphlets in the mail.
