Got bled empty on the border. I think O+ can be used on anybody.

They used to ask us when we had last donated (not that you had a choice) you say yesterday. Medic oke you fine to donate again....

O+ can be used on any type but only people that are rhesus positive - so the plus sign... as opposed o neg donors blood can be used on any type (O A B and AB) and both positive and negative people.

 

I am A neg and can only take O neg or A neg.... can become tricky...

Could not forget it, wore dog tags with it on for two years !!

Ha ha, Yah, even though its 42 plus years ago the military did a good job and I still remember O-.

I'm an A+ donor.

My wife's O-, but can't donate due to medical reasons. 

 

I always urge everyone, esp group O+/- to donate. Most peoples' excuse is their fear of needles; can't help but feel it's their comfort in ignorance :thumbdown:

But just to grind your gears: Rhesus incompatibility isn't "such a big issue". O+ is given to men and older women in emergencies when O- isn't available, which happen way too often, unfortunately.
