DJR Posted March 10, 2020 Share ...............................my steel zeus ............................I saw so many beautiful old classics on Sunday and had a chat to quite a few riders. Greatest was a gentleman on a pristine yellow anodized Vitus that I chatted to on the way up Chappies. If you take it easy, you can talk going up Chappies. Weirdest was a woman riding a fantastic Art Decor Colnago C40, but with flat plastic pedals, T-shirt and takkies. I hope she knew what she was riding and that the explanation is that the airlines lost her luggage. Wayne pudding Mol

The gent and I started gushing over each other’s bikes and got rudely interrupted by another fellow commenting on our bike porn session we were having. Now I absolutely have to make a plan for eroica some time soon. DJR, Long Wheel Base and Wayne pudding Mol
The Ouzo Posted March 10, 2020 Share Which group were they in?3 something. Not sure, I was in 3D but did not take much notice of their race number. Don’t even know if I was around 3D riders at the time.
Wannabe Posted March 10, 2020 Share Had a chap on a Yellow single speed / fixie come flying past me on upper Chappies ( between the two blockhouses) as if I was not pedaling my heart out.Had a mixture of admiration and pure hatred for him..... Slowbee Posted March 10, 2020 Share There was a lady savage riding with another lady in non savage kit, I caught them around Smit’s, then again through to misty cliffs. Still commented to her that I can now say I held onto the wheel of a Savage.Hey, you must have passed me as well. Saw the savage shirt, saw the pink number. Did nothing to try hold on. HR was a solid whinge and not a beeping noise.
capediver Posted March 10, 2020 Share Maybe look at your position on the saddle. You are probably sitting with your weight on the perineum. (Space between your gat and your nuts). Had this before and it freaked me out and caused a good deal of consternation at home -- it will wear off in a few days. Weight should be on the bones of your bum - sit bones.Cure...50k's @ medium pace and 4-5% gradient...ASAP...thank me later....
NC_lurker Posted March 10, 2020 Share Did anyone see a fat bike or has the scourge passed? There was a seriously strong guy on a fat bike in the 1J/1H/1G bunch on the Muizenberg - Simonstown stretch. The road noise off the tyres was insane. Still commented to her that I can now say I held onto the wheel of a Savage. With all the second lappers and riders I think we had around 40 people in Savage kit on Sunday. 3D seems a little high up for second lappers though and too far back for Ouma Savage. eddy Posted March 10, 2020 Share Has anyone noticed that you can use your medal as a beer opener? Making it the best medal in history. The best feeling the whole day was in seeing the smile on the 5year old's face when I gave her a medal to match her father's that her older brother was swanking around with. I always give mine to the first kid whose morning looks like it needs improving. Wayne pudding Mol, MDJ, TIB and 9 others

Lots of people stared at my BB to check! ChrisF
