5am to 9am

this way they can say we got another hour but we didn't really

seems to be the modus operandi

I’ll be happy with 5-9. Really missing those early morning runs.

On the topic of surfing - what is the lifespan of the dreaded lurgy in cold water i.e. Cape Town cold water of 12 to 14 deg C?

It is well known to demise once at least two mouthfuls of salt water have been ingested. Any remaining viral pest will be dealt a mortal blow by the post-surf nasal drip, which by my own experience usually lasts a good 2 hours.

Slightly related - I'd happily staple a DNR to my forehead if I could open my workshop again.

I know a guy who has opened his business despite not being essential services - 2 man business, not much foot traffic.

Stay closed and lose his house or risk losing it because he's in jail  - tough choice

Even here in the North. Glad I got a long sleeve thing from Sportsmans.

when I walked outside I decided it was not cold enough for longs, so just had my normal short bibs with a long sleeve shirt.

When I got back my legs were red from the cold.

But it looks like my legs like cycling in the cold, we seem to have one misty morning a week for the last month or so, that misty morning always coincides with my PB on my Giro d'hood loop.

I am thinking surfing may make it onto the list, seeing as we are entering winter, which is not exactly "beach" weather. Being a retired surfer, I can vouch for the fact of the beaches not getting crowded by sun seekers until at least early October.

Winter is prime surf season on the other hand. If it stays locked down, I feel pity for the guys and gals desperate for a paddle.

I'm dying for a paddle.

I have 3 new boards I shaped during lockdown which I will glass up this coming week.

I am dying to see how they work.... Just to get in the water again would be amazing.

I see all E-commerce stores are allowed to trade which makes sense, so I am really hoping they allow us better freedom of movement and the ability to get back into our rubber suits.

If I were faced with a choice like that I'd do the same. Maybe get caught vs definitely go bankrupt - easy.

Fortunately I had the option of waiting, and will be trading by email and courier from Monday. Thanks Mr Patel for finally seeing the light...

And since this thread is actually meant to be about exercise, I'll be hitting a celebratory ride tomorrow.

How selfish you want to surf whilst thousands are dying from covid. Don’t you care about saving lives. What happens if you have a wipeout then a life guard needs to give you mouth to mouth. He goes home and infects his family. They all die cause you want a paddle. You should be ashamed.

Lol I've never seen so many people talking about Strava...

Did you know it is possible to go for a ride and not upload the ride to Strava? It's possible, I swear.

Or mark it as private.
